It is quite alright to sin…in fact you do deserve a sin day especially if you have been good and counting the calories the whole week. I usually reserve this day for a Sunday and i compensate…That’s the day I fast from afternoon 3:00 pm to the next day morning 6:00 a.m. Which means I hit my daily calorie goal in just one meal for the day and I really go all the way on that one meal. Here is one of the sins….
Chicken – 500 gms ( large slices)
One Large Onion
Garlic – 4 pods cut finely
Ginger – a small piece cut into juliennes
Milk – 500 ml
Refined White Flour – 150 gms
Butter – To coat the pan
Condiments like Pepper , Salt , Red Chili powder , Coriander Powder
Clean , wash and pat dry the chicken. In a bowl add the refined flour and mix the condiments along with it.I usually sieve the flour along with the condiments to mix them well together. Now take the chicken and completely coat the chicken with the flour mix. Keep the remaining flour aside…we will use it. Now take a flat pan and coat the base with butter and fry the chicken till it is golden brown in color. Fry the chicken on a medium flame till it is about 50% done.Remove the chicken from the pan and keep it aside. Now add the onions with a small dash of butter and fry them till they become translucent. add the ginger and garlic and lightly toast it ( dont burn them). Remove this mix too from the pan and keep aside. Now add a handful of the refined flour left over after coating the chicken into the pan with a dash of butter and lightly brown it keeping the flame medium still…no burning the flour remember …then slowly keep adding the milk while stirring this mix into the milk so that it becomes one viscous mass…not too thick.If you find it becoming too thick add some milk. Now check for the salt , add more if you want to. Normally it wont be needed…u need a sweet salt taste to the gravy. Drop the chicken pieces into this so that the chicken is liberally coated with this mix…cover and cook on a low flame for about 15 minutes till the chicken is well done.
Garnish with some parsley or cilantro and serve with toasted bread.
This sin serves four and minus the bread will cost you 650 calories with 45 gms of carbs , 30 gms of fat and 40 gms of protein.
